The Methuen Shakespeare Sculpture

Based on the Cobbe Portrait of William Shakespeare, local artist Judy Methuen has created a 3D bronze sculpture of the Bard. It was officially launched tonight (28/6/2014), at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, but before its public unveiling, Judy talked exclusively to Stratford TV about her vision of Shakespeare as a young man.  Watch video >>

Compton Verney is marking its 10th anniversary this Summer by attempting to break a world record by making the longest ever line of bunting of over 11 km. Shakespeare Birthday Sonnet

A new Sonnet in honour of Shakespeare's 450th birthday was performed for Stratford TV, in the Birthplace gardens on his Birthday (April 23rd). Written by visitors Ruth, Kate (10) and Miri (8) from Nottingham and read by Richard of the Shakespeare Aloud team, who perform everyday in the Birthplace Garden.  Watch video >>

Musicals Rock! at the Stratford Civic Hall

Stratford upon Avon College students wowed their audiences last week when they presented the Musicals Rock! II concert at Stratford Civic Hall. The event saw around 100 second year musical theatre, creative media, music and technical theatre students join together to definitely ROCK the house with excerpts from some of the most famous West End musicals!
