The Shakespeare Plague made by Escape Community Arts

'The Shakespeare Plague' is an Escape Community Arts film project developed to specifically enter the Shakespeare Film Festival. The project was led by film-maker Icky Dhesi and children/young people had free range to interpret the competition in any way they wanted. All language, scripting was developed by the young people who had great enjoyment using the Bard's words and imagery to create their own unique interpretation. Those involved wrote the script and created all the scenes and props themselves and generally a lot of fun was had by all. The film has recently received a ‘highly commended’ award and was screened at the Stratford Picture House. The project formed part of the Escape Youth Arts programme funded by Big Lottery and Stratford Town Trust.  Watch video >>
